Alaska and back

We stuffed Sarah's new minivan full of food and strollers and travel beds and little girls and drove up to Stewart and Hyder for the weekend.

It rained the whole time but oddly after a few weeks of 30+ degree weather it felt exotic and refreshing. The layer of grey hung so low across the mountains that the waterfalls seemed to shoot out straight from the clouds.

Our home for the weekend

I love how this small town feels, like entering a time warp and being totally disconnected from the rest of the world all at once. Wild and old and wonderful.

The first of many family trips together!
